Tangerang, 19 February 2020 - PT Garuda Maintenance Facility Aero Asia Tbk. (GMF) held the inauguration of the latest facilities in the aircraft engine maintenance business line, the Single Jackscrew Gantry System. Located at GMF Aero Asia Engine Shop, Tangerang, the inauguration of the Single Jackscrew Gantry System was opened by CEO of GMF AeroAsia, Tazar Marta Kurniawan and was also attended by the Technical Director of PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk., Rahmat Hanafi and CEO of Citilink Indonesia, Juliandra Nurtjahjo. In his remarks, Tazar said, "Engine Maintenance Services is one of the business lines that became GMF revenue generators this year and the Jackscrew Gantry System is a way for future development." It is also stated in his remarks that Single Jackscrew Gantry System facility was the first to be presented in Asia and the second in the world. "We must proud to be the pioneers of engine maintenance technology innovation in Asia," said Tazar.
The presence of the Engine Gantry System is one of the GMF milestones to achieve the target on working 150 engines within a year. Before this facility was present, the engine maintenance capacity for assembly and disassembly only could reach 100 engines a year which is different by using the Engine Gantry System. Within this new system, the assembly process is 6 hours faster than before. "We prioritize efficiency not only in the production process, but also to realize efficiency to our customers, both in processing time and the TAT can be on time. We believe this facility will provide integrated engine maintenance, efficient, effective, and the best service for our customers, "added Tazar.
Engine Gantry System is a support system of engine maintenance and repairs which can be moved vertical or horizontal. This system produces a 1.5 times greater safety factor than the engine weight itself and able to guarantee personnel safety through more ergonomic engine positioning.
Tazar also expressed his hope for the Jackscrew Gantry System facility to become a trigger to further increase revenue and as an accelerator in the Engine Services business development. "The engine maintenance market in the Asia-Pacific for the next 5 years has increased 4.2% every year, we are optimist that this facility will be welcomed by markets in Asia-Pacific and bringing domestic and regional customers to visit GMF shop is such a challenge ", closed Tazar.
